Draft @ the brewpub during RBWG weekend. Pours reddish brown color with off white head. Caramel and toasted malt aromas with some dough. Very sweet caramel malt flavor. Full body with mild carbonation.

Deep amber coloured body with a ruby tint and a very thin white head. Aroma of pit fruits and a decent amount of malt. Full-bodied; Strong as hell with alcohol and malt more noticeable than anything else. Aftertaste shows the pit fruit flavours, along with apricots and a bunch of malt. Overall, a good Barley Wine for a brewpub, since I usually don’t see this style at a Brewpub! Worth trying if it’s in season! I sampled this beer on draught at Tampa Bay Brewing Company’s Brewpub in Tampa (Ybor City), Florida on 10 November 2007.

Vibrant orangey-amber with a thin head. The aroma is largely caramelly with light orchard fruit esters. Sweet, leaning towards bubblegummy with papaya hop and a stiff shot of alcohol in the finish that ultimately fails to cut the heavy sweetness.

Bottle at TFBC. Pours orange/amber, with tan head. Aroma has a weak flavor profile with prominent malts and caramel and notes of floral hops. Taste, hoppy with grapefruit notes, plenty of sugar, light caramel notes. Thick mouthfeel with orange marmalade and dry hop feel giving it a woody palate. (probably caused it to lose some aroma). Remains a very robust barley, one of the very few that have been available in Florida for past few years.

Draft. Ruby amber beer with an off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with light hops. Sweet, sherry flavor with caramel, and light hops. Medium-plus bodied. Lingering sweet malt, light citrus, and light something that starts to turn into pink liquid antibiotic flavors that I just can’t get out of my head.

Draft at brewery. 10.4% ABV. Pours reddish copper with thin off white ring of foam. I get almost no aroma. The flavor is malty sweet and sugary and maybe a touch of caramel. Above midway the caramel and the alcohol flavor meet and mix to create an almost medicine note that only grows worse as more beer is consumed. Overall this beer doesn’t work for me.

(On tap) Beautiful, clear amber with a creamy, off-white head. Alcoholic, caramelish nose. Full malty feel, full body with some caramel. Extremely alcoholic finish and a marked hoppiness that lacks some sophistication. 040406
