11 July 2020. At Cambrinus, Bruges. Cheers to Anke, mom & dad! Clear dark brown with a stable, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of sour cherry, brambleberry, balsamico, toffee, cake, wood, peanut, lemon peel. Taste has sweet cherry & red apple, toffee malty body with sour funky balsamico & brambleberries underneath, a bit woody. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, more vinegar, sour cherry & bread. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Bit too sweet perhaps but not bad.

Milk, custard and caramel in the aroma. Pear juice. Touches of milky sourness. Thin, caramelly, grape sugar, pear drups. The sourness annoys a bit, seems artificial.

Dark brown colour, almost black, small but stable head. Nose is initially sauerkraut. Mouth is intensive cane sugar and vinegar, some raisin. Medium sweetness, lightly sour. Maybe too sweet, but still good.

Brown with a thin, foamy head. Aroma full of prunes and balsamico. Taste is sweet up front, full of plum juice and beet root sweetness. Goes quickly sour though, with the balsamico dominating the end. Thick, syrupy body with a carbonation that is prickly but not over aggressive. Not my favorite style, but a nice dessert beer on a warm night.

330ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Tart-ish, fruity, minimally spicy aroma, notes of morello, sweet cherry, a touch of raspberry vinegar. Taste is sweet-and sour fruity, minimally slightly sugary, minimally tangy, notes of morello, sweet cherry, raspberry sherbet. Slightly too sweet, minimally artificial, sugary. Not top of the style, but quite solid.
