The Holy Moose has brought about a gathering of Nordic clans; with it comes a berry IPA overflowing with tart citrus flavour.

Cloudberry, lingonberry, blueberry and sea buckthorn meld with citrusy hops in an intensely sweet, fruity and floral aroma, with toasty malt notes and tropical fruit bursts.

This bitter, resinous IPA follows up with a lemony punch in the mouth - cherry and blueberry sourness takes this pithy pale ale in a new direction, before a long, dry finish.

Hops: Amarillo, Chinook, Mosaic

Bottle. A hazy dark golden to copper colored beer topped by dense, off-white head. The aroma has some butterscotchy berry-ish scents with a hint of anise and toffee. Not my favorite, but interesting. The same goes for the flavor, where the berries play a bigger part. It’s full-bodied and smooth on the palate, with a lasting berry finish. Quite nice, nothing extraordinary though. Sort of onedimensional. 151114

Flaska från SB. Betydligt bärigare och syrligare än andra My name is-brygder.

330 ml bottle, batch #448, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy red colour, moderate off-white head. Rather unfresh aroma of dust and over-ripe berries, a hint of citrus. The flavour, on the other hand, is much fresher, with distinct notes of mixed berries and citrussy hops. Well balanced. not too bitter, hardly an IPA by any stretch of the mind. Pleasant to drink.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo, Oslo. Pours almost clear red with a fairly small pinkish head. Very friuity aroma with lots of wild berries, some piney notes hints of citrus, malt and bitter herbs. Medium to moderate sweet with some acidity and much more berry flavour than expected. More a fruit beer than IPA, quite tasty, but the mixture doesn’t quite work for me. Medium body with fairly average carbonation. Certainly interesting enough, but a bit unfocused.

Surprising purple-reddish color with pink head. The bottle immediately smells of pine, the arome in the glass gives a mixture of resinous spruces and berry fruits. The fruitiness is quite gelée-jam-like. The taste is absolutely not like you’d expect it. Lots of berry fruits, some citrusy and resinous hops, slightly tart, dry bitter finish. A thin malt body behind there. High carbonation. You can argue that it’s not an IPA, it’s rather a fruit beer, but hey, it’s a Fruit IPA. A risky brew but it turned out just fine. I like this kind of innovation with Brewdog, and I haven’t been surprised by them in a while.

Smell of hops, citrus, berries. Deep red colour, white head. Aroma of berries, with some hoppy bitterness. Also some lemon. Medium bitter, mildly sour. Light body, quite fresh. Avoids wateriness nicely. Lively carbon, slightly dry palate.

330ml bottle from Alko

Pours dark reddish with a small white head. Aroma of berries, tartish notes, hints of earthiness and stuffy juiciness. Taste is smooth, juicy and heavy with berry notes, hints of earthiness and sweetish hoppiness. Finish is malty, earthy and heavy with berry juice notes. A bit weird and messy.
