Continual hopping during boil gives our Double IPA tons of hop flavor and aroma. Pine and citrus notes are backed by rich malt base

such an easy Dipa to drink. the palate is so smooth, very hoppy of course, but it does have a little bit of a malt base to it that keeps it grounded and not completely a hop bomb. darker in color than im used to for a dipa, but it doesnt reflect anything in the flavor. very good beer

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy orange-apricot color with a large foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet pine, grapefruit and pineapple. The flavor was sweet, tangy and bitter with moderate pineapple and grapefruit and light notes of caramel, nut and bread. The finish was long and sweet with lingering fruit cocktail. Thick and full bodied. Excellent.

Very hazy amber coloured body with a copper glow and a thin micro-bubbled tan head. Aroma of honey, wheat, hops, resin, alcohol, raisins and a bit of oak - very strong for sure. Full-bodied; Pungent malt and a lot of piney and floral hop flavours come together and put some sweetness in the mix along with a little oak and drying characteristics. Aftertaste is nice and complex with some vinous notes, a little whiskey, a lot of hops and a good amount of sugar. Overall, a nice imperial ipa, on the lighter side of the style, which I appreciate - plus the twelve ounce bottle is nice and easily drinkable. Good, not great, but complex and not overly done. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle from a six pack purchased at Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 11-July-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 15-March-2011.

Bottle from Oak Tree. Pours copper amber with a foamy beige head. It’s so hoppy it smells like hippo crap. Med body;foamy carb. Flavor is roasty malt overwhelmed by a lot of hop. It’s very astringent, and seems like citrus and resin. GFS!! Trust me on that.

Molasses, citrus hops, pine, oily, resiny hops, too. Nice bitter finish. The sweet malts really cut the bitterness of the hops down but it’s still a tasty brew.

Strong and crisp. Pours amberish. Some caramel bread on the nose. Resin, cereal and grassy citrus hops round out the taste. Rated 9/22/09

1-8-10....so funny story....damn you Frank...(blind bottle test)....bottle===weak porter flavor?---glass===yes it is an IPA....more malt driven than hop...but the hops play nicely with them...well balanced....a cloudy copper body with not much foam----passed out in a retention pond?---the hops I burp up are delicious...goes down well for an 8.5%

Bottle, Deveney’s, Dublin. Slightly hazy bronze coloured pour with a fading medium off white head. Fruity resinous hop aroma with lurking sweet malts. Something else wierd, almost paraffin like, in the background. Satisfying hoppiness in the flavour with some nice grapefruit notes. Fruitiness continues on in to the lingering dry bitter finish. Not quite an international cap, but a very solid state player.

@Uno’s Caskfest-pours a thin white head and hazy gold color. Aroma is pine/citrus-grapefruit hops, some medium malt. Taste is sweet light/medium malt, then herbal tea/medicinal hops, alcohol.
