Refrigerated 0.5 L brown 2011 vintage bottle corked and capped poured into a snifter. Opaque dark brown with very little beige head which dissipates quickly completely. Aroma is brandy, medium body, very low carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is molasses, whiskey, figs, oak, caramel, some vanilla, some maple and alcohol. Complex, but alcohol is not covered and pretty heavy. I prefer Bourbon County Barleywine.

2011 Vintage. 375mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is gorgeous, with loads of dark fruits (prunes, dates and figs), brandy, and brown sugar. Flavour is luxurious, with complex notes of brandy, dark dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Quite alcoholic without any cloying sweetness or uncomfortable burn. Elegant and complex. A world class barley wine.

Brown color, small head. The aroma develops positively; it has subtle and great notes of dark fruits, raisins, vanilla, alcohol; light tobacco later; gorgeous. The alcohol is so strong that the body perception is affected; lean malt flavor, moderately sweet, some vanilla, lightly biscuity, a lot of alcohol. Good beer, too boozy though.

Bottle - Boozy and brandy, a bit of a burn and caramel. Deep copper with no head. Fig, raisin, toffee, raisin and a long sweet brown sugar. Fantastic except for the nose. Decadent and brilliant.

Bottle shared big thanks to MrHangover. Pours dark brown with a ring beige head. Aroma of molasses, leather, raisins, tobacco, wood, overripe dark fruits, fudge and brown sugar. Flavour is heavy sweet but in a great and no way cloying way. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Awesome!

Dry ( from the wood ) Bit of portorization . Easy drinkable . Shocked by the ABV , expected like 8 ... Very nice ! but dangerous ...

Bottle from ReedM. Thanks a bunch. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head. Aroma is brandy with brown sugar. Full bodied. It’s very brandy, with oak and moderate treacle. Subtle oak. Extremely wonderful ale. Next time calvados barrels!!!

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a cloudy dark brown with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma is full of sweet grains with a strong bread note, caramel, strong toffee and brandy. Flavor is strong brandy with notes of sweet grains and caramel with toffee in the finish.

Ultra rich dark mohogany brown with a 2 finger head that fades fast. Smells like a burnt caramel and toffee. Smells pretty fantastic. This is hard. Ultra complex. Sweet sugar cereal like corn pops and toffee. Lots of sweet hard candies, refined cocoa, sweet and boozy but with a gigantic oak presence. This is seriously fantastic. 2011 bottle

750 ml bottle 2011 vintage of course, nice holding it two years before selling it! Dark muddy water color with flat CO 2. Aroma is almonds, raisins, brandy and a little chocolate fudge aspect. Nice!

The flavor is rich and decadent. I can’t claim to know a lot about brandy but damn this is complex. Layers of crazy flavor, maple syrup, vanilla, almonds upfront with a light port wine flavor in the center. It has some some light oxidation in the form of dark fruit, rum soaked figs, burnt sugar and plums. If you enjoyed this young, same on you! This has developed really nicely. Finish is sweet with a hint of booze leading to a warming sensation down the throat. Layers of rich malty goodness, hot damn!
