Draught fromt he brewery. Poured a deep brown, smoky malty bitter notes. Really quite good for the not obscenely high abv.

Bottle from Burg Bieren, Ermelo. Aroma is roasted malt with grindy coffee, chocolate, chewy dark malt, touch of caramel, milk chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Very fine Porter, no fancy bells and whistles, roasty with coffee and chocolate.

Nonic pint draft at O’Rourkes in Notre Dame, Indiana. The pour is a dark brown, with a light tan head that falls with a coating of lace. The aroma is caramel malt sweetness and a nice roast. The taste is the clean malt caramel sweetness, moving towards the char roast and finishes dry and clean. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation and the dry roasty finish. Tasty.

One green $2 can of just what I need. A high alky baltic porter to take the edge off. Pour is big and black with medium size foaming choco moose head. Smell is thick and rich, it reminds me of the olfactory in an impy stout. One big gulp yeilds a strong dark brew that's quite volatile yet nearly charming, but aint. Strong big fricken kick in the ass nastiness. Whew. YES, not quite like an impy stout and is more on par with a baltic purtur, heheheh. Yes, quite a bitchen bastard, clear to the end. Not repeatable; just give me a fresh cheap pale lager to chase this with. At least this GB porter don't taste like an IPA, thank you.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on the first night of April after a long winter. Appearance is a creamy pitch black with a rich off white head that laces to the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt, biscuit, light coffee, not too potent. Taste is very nice, lightly bitter, dark chocolate notes, definitely a middle ground between stout and porter.
