After browsing this beer several times I always passed it by based on the label. Sparkling ale? Only after reading the fine print did I see that it was a Belgian. Pours a lightly cloudy dark golden color with a medium thin off-white head. Thin lacing. The aroma is a nice concoction of spice, malt and a little sweet fruit. Medium-bodied with a strong wheat character and flavors of malt, citrus and spice. Some alcohol is evident at times too. The finish is rather short and leaves a lingering yeast taste. This is a pretty good beer but doesn’t compete with the better Belgians out there, especially considering the price.

Pours a dull yellow with a fizzy white head. I can’t really get an aroma but I can kinda get vanilla. Flavor is orange,banana and cloves. Lots of things going on in this brew. Drinkable and refreshing.

There is a lot going on with this beer. My first impression of the aroma form the bottle was, "Blatz." After pouring the aroma was more like that of a high quality pils. There are flavors of sweet malt and light fruit. Also some great herbal characteristics. Appearance is of a heavily carbonated hefe weizen. orange, cloudy, thick white head. For some reason the label is upside-down. What's the deal with that? Anyway, this beer was a great surprise.

I believe this is the 2002 bottling. To be honest, this beer reminds me of a strongly floral, sweet and fruity pale ale. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a creamy off-white head. Zesty, fruity and spicy aroma. Flavor is fruity and definitely spicy, but earthiness and the characteristic bitterness of this brewer's Pale Ale and Third Coast Beer tend to dominate the flavor profile. I suspect the yeast phenols produce this quality (even the abundant yeast sediment in the body reminds me of the Pale and Third Coast). Flowery hops noticeable too. A touch of alcohol in the aftertaste. Decent, but not one of my favorite Belgians.

2002 bottle. Pours a small head. Cloudy and a rusty orange color. Initial taste is pungent. Orange zest abounds. Nice sour yeasty taste, spongey texture. Has a surprising medium body (didnt know what the hell this beer was when i bought it). Finishes with a nice sweet orange lollipop flavor with plenty of malt. As it warms there are some slight hop notes that taste fresh and appealing. Aroma is mild and a bit bitter/sour with some yeast. I refuse to belive this is 10.25 abv.

Golden coloured. Hazy. Big apricot aroma. Rather sweet, surprisingly light bodied. Unusual, well balanced and one of the most dangerously drinkable beers there is at 10%. Feels rather Belgian.
