Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, coffee, fruity hops, citrus, notes of chocolate, light roast. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Body is medium, finish is dry. Leans towards Black IPA, but it’s still primarily a hopped Stout. Smooth one.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, a hint of licorice and citric hops in the aroma and flavor. Very well hopped. Grassy. Hint of salt. Caramel, roast. Nice one.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Hoppy Stout on 17 May 2018 at 15:32 - Score: 7

330ml bottle, from trade with monstermagnet. Many thanks! Pours dark, with moderate tan head. Aroma is dark roast with a light sweetness. Taste is perhaps hoppier than expected and Im not massively convinced the hop choice and berry sweetness works alongside the roast and coffee. Different.

Bottle at a tasting. Not dark enough nor roast enough to be a stout. Shy dark malts. Unnecessarily high hoppiness considering it is not well intertwined with the rest of the beer. Grassy and vegetal hoppines.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB Nov 2016, large sample. Dark color, medium frothy brown head. Aroma of bready and roasty malt, dark fruit, blackcurrant, bit pine. Medium bitterness in taste, roasty tones, citrus. Good balance, good beer.

0.33 l bottle from ’Tabak’s Wijndiscount & Bierwinkel’, bottled in October 2015. Very dark red to black with a large, creamy, stable, light brown head. Fruity-resiny, slightly roasty-malty aroma of mango, passion fruit and pine with hints of dark chocolate. Sweetish, roasty-malty and slightly fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee and licorice, accompanied by mango, passion fruit and some pine, followed by a medium long, roasty-bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and a little effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Tasty, well-balanced Hoppy Stout/BIPA with a decent body and IPA-ish aroma.

17/II/16 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: XI/2017 (2016-165) Thanks to markoijelena for the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, creamy irregular beige to brown head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: wow, this is just fantastic! Lots and lots of citrus, grapefruit, nice roasted malts, lovely! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: fruity start, lots of citrus, pretty hoppy, soft roast, some sweet malts. Aftertaste: hops, citrus, grapefruit, little medicinal, soft roast, lovely stuff! Although I would indeed place this in the Black IPA category, rather than stout.
