Our Winter IPA is bold and assertive for those cold winter months. Powder Hound has just the right amount of warmth with a generous dose of hops.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a bright copper with a small off-white head and no lacing. The aroma is light caramel, apples, lemon, and cinnamon. The flavor is mildly bitter, and sweet. The palate is light to medium, crisp, and sticky. The aftertaste is long and bitter. Overall, this is a good, easy drinking and well made beer.

Clear light copper coloured body with a honey golow and a nice, thick dense off-white head with a nice lace leftover. Aroma of strong, bright citrus and grapefruit hops, yeast, apricots, coriander seed, curacao, honey and some pungent malt - very nice indeed. Medium-bodied; Biting hop flavour at first with a good malt backbone, some light yeast flavours, a touch of bright sweetness and a little alcohol flavour near the end. Good yeast and honey flavours to finish it off and a little light hoppiness in the aftertaste. Overall, a good beer - not too strong and not too weak, but a good beer for the season and a variation from the typical, roasted malt beer during this time of the year - nice! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 16-January-2011 for US$2.59 sampled at home in Washington on 12-March-2011.

Pour is a copper with a small white head. Aroma is spice with some floral hops. Flavor is more of a dull grain with a bit of spice toward the end. Nothing mind blowing but decent.

12 oz bottle. Faint aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg. Pours brownish red with a thick head and nice lacing. Tastes a little sour. Carbonation is a little low; thin. Fairly standard, boring winter warmer.

12oz bottle. Thick amber brown color. Patchy, soapy head. Ambery sweet caramel aroma, screams old to me. The taste seems the same, some deep faded amber malt and cinnamon sweetness. Poor job of covering the alcohol. Scotch ale with some unpleasant pungent sourness...in a bad way. I hope this is just my punishment for drinking a Winter beer in later April.

Bottle. Poured red brown with lasting white head. Some lacing. Aroma of spice, citrus, honey. Flavour is malt, with spice, honey and something I can’t recognise. Honey/malt finish. Again worth drinking if you come across it.
