Another growler at Maakun’s. Unclear amber with small white head. Sour toasted grains, citrus sour, caramel, rusty grapes, some vague peanut skins, hibiscus floral note, lactic sour notes. Light sweet, moderate sour, medium bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Minerallike feel to it and amazing nice complexity and balance.

Growler shared at my pre-40th birthday party. Slight hazy amber with light beige head. Soft grassy and flowery, creamy malts with soft caramel and bread crust, sour plums and berries, light lactic, apricot yoghurt, earthy. A lot going on here. Medium sour, medium sweet too and under medium bitter. Medium bodied. Very complex and interesting I really enjoy this.

Sampled at Snallygaster 2019. Poured a darker amber color, with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma was funky yeast, some grain, touch of sweetness. Pleasant stuff.

Very nice, a lot of bretta in this. Orange, some tang. Pours murky maroon with good head and lacing. Finishes tangy orange. Tap at Snally.

Draught at the brewery, 3/23/18.
Lightly hazy amber with a thick, light beige-colored head showing strong retention.
Grain and bread of various types form the nose. Very nicely expressive use of specialty malts/adjunct grains without being overdone. Light, floral hops sit elegantly on the end and the yeast gives off pepper and very mild, even fruit (pear, apple, strawberry). Very clean and well-presented with no alcohol noted.
Good malt texture in the mouth with a mix of soft malt/wheat and more crisp specialty grains. Something lightly sour, almost spent grain-like, showing light tartness and lemon-forward hop notes that add a good citrus element. VERY carbonated, needing a few minutes or so to relax. Toasted grain persists, but it gets much more soft and even in both malt and hop character as it warms and breathes.

Tap at The Ginger Man, Manhattan
Deep amber colour, medium-sized beige head. Tart, earthy with berries in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Berries, red-wine/grape tannines, rhubarb tartness and earthyness. Interesting but a small sample is enough.
