Bottle from Birratrovo, Como
Slow gusher; pours black, with large but not persistent head. The aroma is strange; roasted malts, coffee, barrels, a bit vinous, light aniseed, mold; stale. Moderate roasted malt flavor, with a rather dry and overcarbonated mouthfeel; there is some black liquorice, and again a strong stale impression; the alcohol is perceived stronger than it should.
I’m quite sure that it refermented too much in the bottle and it’s no longer what it was intended to be.

At a tasting at KyotoLefty’s place. A dark oily reddish black with a sweet malty boozy umami aroma. The taste is barrel aged funky chocolate & bourbon on a light-medium body. A decent beer but it came out kind of average compared to lots we poured last night.

Säuerlicher, stark malziger Beginn. Holzig oxidiert, trocken, halbwegs rund. Würzig, schokoladiger Abgang. Gerade noch so, dass ich es nicht als disharmonisch bezeichnen würde. 11/11/12/10/12/11

33 cL bottle at Ale & Hop. Pours pitch black to brown with a creamy, chocolate brown and lasting head. Aroma is fruity, citric and dark roasted malt. Smooth fruity, malty, overripe fruity, light tarish. Solid carbonation. Lingering overripe fruity and tarish. Seems to have gone off, but in a good direction.

Bottled 330ml (Superbirra festival Genova, BB 12/2013)
Deep opaque brown color, small beige head. Strong cellary smell. Medium-bodied. Flavor is also quite cellary and earthy but has toasted malts, wood and some licorice in the finish. Just cellary, not acidic (=infected).

Bottle shared at The Kernel. Thanks Nate! Pours oily, black-brown with very little head. Some tangy dark malts in the nose. Medium sweet flavor, tangy dark fruits, light tobacco and roast. Medium odied with soft carbonation. Sweet finish, dark and tangy fruits, light roast, dark sugar. Not bad.
