Pure Milwaukee Genius Series 1: Made with three styles of fresh American hops and fruity ale yeast that requires greater fermentation, it finishes with a dark amber appearance, spicy hop flavor and bold, malty backbone. The punch this potent brew packs reminds us all that when you want to make a point, you’re better off making a statement.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, bottled December 2010, 3/17/11
Aroma: It has pine hops, fruity/citrusy notes, some caramel, dark fruit, and toffee sneak through too
Appearance: The pour is mahogany-brown with a bubbly beige head and lots of lace
Flavor: Fairly balanced with a caramel malty flavors, pine and citrus hops, and some spice too
Palate: It is medium-full bodied, fairly smooth, with average carbonation, and a long duration
Overall Impression: My first beer of the 2011 NCAA Tourney, and don't give me any of that crap about Tuesday and Wednesday being the "first round," as far I'm concerned, the tourney started today! Anyway, on to the beer, this stuff was pretty tasty and drinkable. A really nice beer, lots of flavor, drinks nicely, this one is just well done. An excellent beer to enjoy while watching the Spiders knock off Vandy! I'm excited for Morehead-Richmond. I really do believe that this is the best sporting event of the year.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Myrup. Pours a cloudy orangey brown with a dense and lacing beige head. Caramel, nuts and American hops in the nose. Medium body, hard roast malt and caramel with almost perfumy hops. A little hops in the nose. Nice - kinda like an Imperial Amber. 130211

Pour is a thick dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is super sweet malts followed by a nice hoppy pine resin. Flavor is more sweet malts with a roasted nut quality. Finish is maybe a little bit of licorice and a small alcohol presence. This is a pretty good beer with something new with every sip. And it’s a frigging bargan,

Hazy light brown. Bright peachy aroma with rich toasty dark bread happiness. Herbal, toasty and a crazy mix of citrus and dark grainy breads. I’m really not sure what to make of this other than I like it.

Amber coloured body with copper highlights and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of strong hops, alcohol, citrus, caramel and a touch of nuttiness. Full-bodied; Very chewy flavours with alcohol, hops and sweetness coming through most. Aftertaste is very strong, with a lot of alcohol warmth around, a touch of caramel sweetness and some hops too. Overall, a decent Imperial IPA, perhaps a bit too strong for me though, and nothing special. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased earlier in the day from Mondo Vino in Denver, Colorado on 12-February-2010, sampled in Breckenridge, Colorado.

22oz Bottle Pours out a rusty amber topped with a sand cream head. Aroma of sweet caramel, citrus hop and a rich malt. Taste more of the sweet caramel and rich malts. The hops have started to die a little. There is still a nice grapefruit bite on the end.
