Pour is like a cloudy honey with a small white head. Aroma is a big pine hop with some sugar. Flavor is again a dank pine hop with a bit of rye and a nice Belgain yeasty flavor left on the tounge. This is a nice ale and something to deffinalty try again.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a golden amber color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and produced great lacing. The aroma was very strong bitter and sweet pink grapefruit juice. The flavor was very strong sweet pink grapefruit juice. Long sweet finish. Thick and full bodied. Excellent.

Man, there’s no brewery out there that knows how to handle rye quite like Bear Republic. I’m not sure what it is they do, or why, but their rye beers always rock. Ryevalry is no exception. Belgian yeastiness couples with huge amounts of citric hops, creating an instant fruity tartness that only gets better as the rye malt kicks in. The beer keeps this streak of citrus throughout, even as the Belgian leanings drop off towards the dry, piney finish. Pretty much the best fucking spring seasonal out there right now, folks.

Bright golden color, with nice frothy white head. Very piney and lemon nose with a touch of rye spiciness and Belgian yeast. Unique and enjoyable nose. The mouth starts very ipa with lots of hops, but then the Belgian kicks in and then the rye. Kinda like a hoppy rye duvel. Very interesting. Very well balanced and put together. Moderately bitter finish. Deceptively drinkable. Alcohol well hidden. I like.

Tap at Meridian pint. Yellow color, large white head with good retention. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, with nice floral notes. Taste has moderate bitterness, very palatable, with rye coming in toward the end. Very nice stuff, even better than the barrel aged version.

On tap. Slightly hazy golden body with a large white head that stays. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits and slightly spicy. Pine and some belgian esters. Very dry aroma. Flavors are dry and estery with an extremely bitter note. Pine is the main hop flavor. A bit of pinesol as well. Not very easy to drink. Medium bubbles. I prefer the wood aged version by quite a bit!

Draft at Gingerman NY. Hazy, amber body with orange highlights. Frothy, white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of caramel, brerad, toasted grain, pine, grapfruit and orange. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, sticky texture and lively carbonation. Rye twang adds to bitterness which lingers. Noticable hop spiciness. Enjoyable integration of rye into an IPA.

On tap at the vintage estate. Fruity odd aroma. almost like pee but not quite. Clear and bubbly pour. Has a flavorful snap that covers that basic rye/ipa feel. Bitter like an IPA but that interesting flavor keeps poking thru, must be the yeast. Bitter lemon peel in the background. High alky blast fer sure. Finish is long bitter roto-tilling across your tongue for a while after the session.
