Our dream begins with open-top fermentation. At high krausen, a foamy, rocky yeast head crests the sides of the fermenter releasing notes of black pepper and spicy clove. Unfiltered and cloudy with yeast, it’s slightly tart and downright refreshing.

From tap. Pours golden orange to light brown with a small off white head. Aroma is mild caramelish, toasted malty. Bitter, toasted malty and breadish to caramelish. Mild sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is yeast, bready malt and banana. Medium mouthfeel with grain, banana, earthy malt. Good

Had this more than enough times, figured I better say something.
I’ve had this in weizen glasses most of the time, but often had it straight form the bottle.
Here goes.
The appearance was a nice hazy yellow to orange color, definitely looks filtered to me. In the weizen glass, it definitely had a nice two finger soft white foamy head that dissipates a fairly moderate pace.
The smell was slightly peppery yet clove-like banana-esque refreshing-ness. I would say spectacular in Summer.
The taste was peppery spicy with a super nice allocated banana-ness coming back to balance it all out. The aftertaste was slightly banana/spiciness leading to a nice refreshing (could be construed as watery) aftertaste. I’d say it was a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sits about a light to medium and shows a pretty good sessionable quality running about my mouth and tongue. The carbonation hits, but isn’t overly done.
Overall, if there’s ever any hefeweizen I’d ever like to replicate in my homebrewing, it would be this. Though I’ve never reviewed this on Beer Advocate, this is an exceptionally well done hefeweizen well worthy of having again. I could only wish to ever get this again.

12oz bottle. Hazy orange-yellow body. Classic banana clove yeast notes, coupled with some spicy Saaz balance. Almost has that red wheat thing going on. Medium bodied, Rather middle of the road, decent ingredients and no off flavors, but not really perfect for the style or that memorable of a beer.

Comes together nicely for a hefeweizen. Taste has light bubblegum and some bread yeast. Light coriander. Pours light cloudy orange. A little sweet on finish. Good package. Tap at DC Beer festival.

12 ounce bottle into weizen glass, bottled on 5/10/2013. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big banana, lemon, pear, apple, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, bubblegum, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of yeast, hop, and malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big banana, lemon, pear, apple, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, bubblegum, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of banana, lemon, pear, apple, bubblegum, wheat, bread, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance, complexity, and robustness of malt, hop, and yeast flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this a damn nice Hefeweizen. All around good robustness, balance, and complexity of malt, yeast, and hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle thanks to Jason! Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of lots of earthy wheat with just a bit of banana and clove. Flavor has earthy wheat notes throughout with a bit of clove and banana towards the finish.

Bottle. Cloudy orange, lowish head. Hefeweizen fruity notes, banana, vanilla and oranges, light dry clove, a hint flowers. Chewy medium body. Wheaty fruity finish. Dry metallic aftertaste. Solid

This brew pours a hazy golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat and bananas. Light-bodied with flavors of wheat, bready malt and banana. The finish is sweet with a clove and banana aftertaste. Decent overall.
