Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of caramelized sugar with light oak and some hoppy resinous notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a nice mix between some caramelized sugar and solid malt backbone with light oak and some resin-based hops. Hops were probably stronger when the bottle was fresh but still very drinkable. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not something for everyday drinking but well worth drinking.

4oz pour at the Lupulin Reunuless at RFD DC. Pours a transparent, copper with a thin, creamy white head. Lightly hoppy nose, light leather, oranges, caramel, malts. Flavor of oranges, malty, caramel, zesty citrus. I get the Celebration and the Big Foot but where’s the barrel? I wanted more wood and vanilla. As it was, I still liked it.

Pours a clear deep ruby color with a huge fluffy white head that slowly recedes while sticking itself to the glass all the way down. Smells of citrus and pine, a cherry like candy sweetness with hints of dark fruits. A bit of pepper, caramel and alcohol round the nose out. Taste is a little on the sweet side up front until the hops take over and assault the taste buds. Taste is filled with sweet dark fruits, plums and cherries come to mind. The candied sweetness carries into the taste and adds some woody, earthy, pine and citrus notes before finishing with a lingering hop bitterness and a touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel is somewhere between creamy and resinous. Carbonation and body are somewhere in the middle. I really enjoyed this one after a long stressful work week. It will be interesting to see how this one ages, I’m guessing it will only get more complex.
