Small beige head over ruby to amber, faintly hazed beer. Nice USA hops, with pineappleester, spruce/resin and lytchee. Quite sweet onset, but then, there’s an onslaught of hops and a jumble of exotic fruit as mango, lytchee and citrus. Quite slick, oily, quite well-bodied and spritzy. A good, if not exceptional beer. I’m hoping beyond hope that Sierra Nevada will come to their senses and make this a yearly holiday-time offering; beer this good should never be a simple one-off, no matter what event it’s meant to commemorate. Sure, I’m not exactly square on what role Ol’ Greenskin plays in this beer; Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is undetectable amongst the dry pine forest of Celebration and the sticky-sweet heaviness of Bigfoot. But who cares; if Pale Ale is needed to create this wondrous bottle, screw it. Three’s a party.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Copper coloured, slightly hazy pour with a plump, creamy, beige head that gradually faded. Aroma was sweet malt and piney hop led, with some notes of fruits and wood. Flavour kicked off quite sweetly, then the resinous hops came into play with some woody notes, leading to a bittersweet hoppy finish. ABV nicely smothered. A well conceived and tasty fusion . Thoroughly enjoyable stuff indeed.

Appearance: Clear mahogany with a nice medium sized and long lasting off-white head and good lacing

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark caramel-brown color with a huge foamy orange-beige head that lingered and produced great lacing. The aroma was bitter with pine, grapefruit, brown sugar and a touch a wood. The flavor was bitter with moderate brown sugar, strong grapefruit and light piney and floral hops. Underneath were notes of wood and smoke. The finish was long and bitter with lingering grapefruit, brown sugar and wood. Fairly full bodied. Interesting.

750 ml corked and caged bottle into an Allagash chalice. My expectations for this are high. I need a hop-bomb right now. I am in no mood for malt. Knowing the three beers that make this beer up, I’m sure it won’t disappoint. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a huge off-white head that retains itself nicely. Aroma is resiny, citrus powder drink...not quite the piney hop experience I was hoping for. Taste is bittersweet. I taste oak, pine (thank you SN!), catbox (that’s alright), alcohol. Carbonation is medium, texture is creamy, body is full. Finish is long and bitter. Nice, but maybe not as good as what I needed at the moment. There’s always Hoptimum, which just came in.

clear light amber smooth small offwhite head. very nice balanced malty and hoppy aroma.delicate. flavor is hoppy, bitterhoppy, very slightly flowery, malty, quite bitter.
