11.2 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a glassful of large brown frothy head. Eventually fades to nearly pitch black. Aroma of chocolate, roast and brett. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, citrus, earthy notes. Lightly tart. Medium bodied. Nice.

Draught: Deep amber coloured, small tanned head; sourish-cellary nose with some caramalt underneath; medium bodied, dryish malty-bitter flavour; bitter caramelly finish with a sourish-bretty tinge. O.K. .....

Bottle from Half Time. Wild brew. Pours with a five finger creamy foamy tan head. Color is quite dark. Aroma from the bottle neck is cola/root beer. Aroma above all that foam is rather sassafras. Med body. Flavor is chalky, chocolate, burnt malt, sassafras. Generates the same mouth coat feel as fresh cooked spinach. Not all that sour, but it does have a brettish finish. A wide assortment of unusual, but it works fairly well.

Squat little bottle pours dark mahogany with freakishly tall, infected looking, mocha head. The aroma is dusty, chalky tart infection with hints of boysenberry covered bacon in the background. The taste isn’t as fouled up. I get an initial pulse of carbonation enhanced tartness that gives way to dark roasted malts, smoky bacon, thick clumpy earthiness, a bit of smoldering Barbie doll and some spicy black licorice. The tartness and dryness return to take this to the finish. I wonder if what I’m getting was the intent here.

Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th ’11. Courtesy of Solan.
