Sheep Shagger Scotch Ale is rich, malty and full-bodied. Brewed with specialty roasted malts for a complex blend of caramel and toffee flavors and a subtle peaty character. So true to its style, Sheep Shagger is a malt-forward wee heavy showcasing barley, with slight peated notes reminiscent of your favorite whiskey.

bottle - Pours lightly hazy amber with a one finger light tan head. It smells of caramel and toffee malt. There’s a rich, sweet flavor of caramel malt with gentle roast character and a medium body. Enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Smoky peat, and earthy roasted barley malt aroma. Hazy deep amber with an off-white ring. Sweet roasted malt, earthy/smoky peat, and light fruit flavor. Medium body. Very enjoyable.

Bottle: Brownish copper in color with a whispy sand colored head. Nose is rich with malts, caramel, and peat. Lightly earthy. Flavor is malty, again more peat. Sort of woody and smokey too. Just a faint vinous fruity element.

12oz bottle, transparent copper with a milky white head. Smokier aroma, peaty, sweet, caramel. Finish is a little thin. Caramel flavors, rum, crystal malts. A little harsh.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber-brown color with a head that quickly fades down to an oily rim. The taste is very malt centered and chocolaty, with very nice specialty malt nuances. Really quite an exceptional Scotch Ale, as it remains pretty drinkable and balanced, not overly thick and cloying like some versions. Bitter hop balance melds perfectly with the thick chocolate malt tones. A great beer.

Brown. Moderate sized head. Grain character, and some carbonation. It lacks the qualities I associate with this style, such as sweet malt, or earth, smoke, or peat.
