The last of a series, Batch 10,000 Ale looks back to our home-brewing roots. After combing through the catalogs of many, many malt & hop suppliers, our brewers used over 100 different malts, grains, and other fermentables, and followed them up with a blend of 60 different hop varietals between the kettle additions and dry-hopping. The resulting beer presents a deep, chocolate brown hue and offers roasted & caramel notes from the malts mixed with an assertive hop character. Sharply bitter, the beer possesses a full mouthfeel without being heavy and will withstand aging in your cellar, if you prefer.

A deep dark brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, a rather funked malr, herbaceous, dark fruits, frankincense, a bit off and strange. In mouth, a rather interesting woody malt with some fusel alcohol, astringent during the whole taste, dissappointing. Tasted Oct. 21 2011 with GRM and Boutip. Merci Philippe.

Bottle from Guerde. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of pine over strong roast malt. Med body. Mild carb. Flavor is sweet dark brown malt with enough piney hop to overbalance. No heat. Very nice.

12oz bottle, finally pulled from the fridge to consume on Sept 9, 2011. Poured a dark brown color, lasting medium sized off-white head. Aroma was chocolate notes, fruit notes, sweet malts. Flavor was smooth, creamy chocolate notes, with a notch of roasted malts, touch of light hop character - may have mellowed since bottling date.

Pours a deep reddish-brown color with a medium off-white head that diminishes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of chocolate malt, molasses and hops. Medium body with flavors of sweet malt, hops, dark chocolate and grapefruit. Slight boozy note in the background as well. The finish is roasted malt at first and leaves a tinge of warming alcohol and hops behind. Above average overall.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a clear orangey brown with a beige head. Sweet burned caramel, nuts and spicy hops. Solid body, sweet spicy caramel like in maple syrup, a little licorice allsorts and licorice and a hoppy but not all that bitter finish. Rather nice and sophisticated. 230511
