Ne Goeien is Flemish for "A Good One." We’d like to think this beer is exactly that. When we invited Hildegard Van Ostaden from Urthel to come brew with us at Port Brewing, we hoped the collaboration of our brewers and her passion for brewing would result in one fine beer. A simple Saison styled beer with firm bitterness is all she requested. From the beginning, it was easy to imagine this beer as Ne Goeien all the way.

Straw, hazy. Aroma of pedio, sweat, some light pepper and pale malt. The taste is pepper, but heavy on the pedio. Simple, with some breay notes. A little bit disappointing.

Sent a photo in to be uploaded. 2008 Bottle (initial release). Pours with an average sized, rocky, white head covering a murky yellow body. Great retention and lacing is great too. Aroma of pineapple, pepper, orange and Kumquat (hoppiness) as well as a doughy yeast smell. Taste is dry and slightly peppery, a bit spicey in the finish with some bitterness. A very good, easy drinking saison. Dry mouthfeel with lively bubbles. Perfectly to style, and a freat summer collaboration.

Bottle courtesy of mgumby10. Pours hazy straw color with white head. Aromas of citrus, clove. corriander and a little pepperiness. Spicy flavor with a good amount of hops for a saison. This is different but I like it, very nice. Medium body with lively carbonation and a dry finish.

75 cL bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with a lacing white head. Orange fruity hoppy and mild wooden brett accent. Flavour is mild spiced and light wooden dry. Mild wheaty texture and flavour. Smooth hops flavour working good with the dry wooden brett. Smooth and easy into a medium dry and light fruity finish. 7-4-8-4-15=3.8
