Bottled. Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is figs, some ripe plum, mild toffee as well as some dark syrupy sweetness. Flavour is rather sweet figs, plum, some syrup as well as some wooden and mild herbal notes. A bit on the sweet side, but works well as a slow sipper.

Cloudy red - brown beer. Small off white head. Smooth palate with moderate carbonation. Rich malts with an undertone of sugary fruits salad. Finishes semi dry with vague spice. Doesn’t quite gel for me, a bit cloying.

Bottle at Cropredy Festival, Cropredy, Nr Banbury, Oxon, Friday 12th August 2011 Craig brought this beer along and shared it, cheers Craig. Never realised that that this beer was fermented with figs, so I was quite pleased to be able to pick these out in my description along with over ripe plums dates, and soft dark sugars. It;s a touch sweet at first , but very fruity and most enjoyable. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

750 ml bottle courtesy of SHIG - thanks! Murky reddish brown, few edge bubbles. Wonderful fruit aroma upon opening the bottle! Taste is sweet and syrupy, low carbonation, medium body, no bitterness. Tasty.

Bottle: Poured a dark coppery to light brown with a off white head. Aroma is dark fruit and fig. Taste is sweet malt which leaves way to a strong fig and metallic hops. The only thing fruit about this beer is the fig. One of the best beers I have tried this far from Valscura!

Good, persistent yellow-orange head, copper-foxy beer. +/- roasted, caramelly, toffee nose, not fruity. Again toffee, pear-syrup, sirop de Liège . Bit of astringency, alcohol. Aftertaste yields incense and fusels; fiery MF. Some tasters find fresh figs. I don’t, for one. More fig/pear breadspread.
