Bold, spicy, menacingly delicious HopDevil takes on an entirely new dimension when subjected to a wild yeast fermentation. A sharp, sourish edge has been added by this fermentations that plays into the caramel sweet malt deliciously and creates complex interplay with citrus accented hops.

Originally made in 2008 and re-brewed throughout the years.

Bottle. Slightly hazy dark amber color with large spongy beige head, spicy caramel like aroma, high carbonation, slightly sour caramel taste, medium finish with citrus like aftertaste. Very satisfying to drink, not too sour or bitter.

Corked 750 ml that foamed up like a wild devil upon opening and pouring...the foam is as thick as the snow drifts outside...except this is dirty snow atop a medium brown body with some copper highlights.....light floral hop aroma and some added sour funk.....light piney and citrus hop flavor with pineapples as well ...its different, light and easy to drink...it grows on me the more I sip

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/11/2014. Pours slight hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, black pepper, hay, straw, grass, light caramel, toast, bread, musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops, funky/spicy brett, and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apricot, black pepper, hay, straw, grass, caramel, toast, biscuit, musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Large amount of earthy yeast spice/hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, apricot, black pepper, hay, straw, grass, caramel, toast, biscuit, musty funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of funky/spicy brett, citrus hops, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly prickly/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Brett IPA. All around great complexity spicy/funky brett, citrus hops, and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Enjoyed on tap at Emporium Arcade Bar in Chicago, IL while watching Bears vs Jets. Appearance is a dark ruby red with a nice white head that lightly laces to the glass. Aroma is very pronounced, nice hop profile, huge pine notes, wild yeast, pretty great. Taste is abrasive but delicious. Really enjoying this one.

Frfom a 75 cl corked and caged bottle. Pours a clear copper with a thick and frothy off white head. Grassy nose. Flavors of tropical fruits, butterscotch and tart lemon. Tart, bitter finish.

750 ml corked with no cage bottle (score! Thanks, Brenn79). Aroma is floral, piney, peppery, dusty brett, lemon rind. Pours hazy burnt orange with a medium beige head with good retention; leaves some cobwebby lace on the glass. Taste is earthy, bitter, citrusy, spicy. It’s a nice blend of two normally disparate styles, the IPA and wild yeast innoculated beer. It’s not sour at all, but the brett imparts that earthy dusty basement flavor that compliments the piney citrusy hops nicely. Palate is perfect for style. Nice experiment.

Big citrus, and light bretta here. Finishes with light bitterness and a little residual sourness. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Good stuff, and well-balanced. Tap at Smoke and Barrel.

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Clear golden/amber with off-white head. Aromas of fruity notes, Brett, floral notes. Tastes of tropical fruit, citrus, light Brett, floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Good though the Brett may need a bit more time to develop.
