Bold, spicy, menacingly delicious HopDevil takes on an entirely new dimension when subjected to a wild yeast fermentation. A sharp, sourish edge has been added by this fermentations that plays into the caramel sweet malt deliciously and creates complex interplay with citrus accented hops.

Originally made in 2008 and re-brewed throughout the years.

Tap at Barcade. Nice brew. Strong, wild yeast aroma. Flavor is sweet like candy with just enough yeasty funkiness to keep things interesting. Anymore funk and I wouldn’t be such a fan. Some subtle maltiness adds to the pleasure. Very solid on the whole.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Pours a translucent, amber with a thin white head. The aroma was a good mix of IPA and sour, a little funky, a little grassy, some lemon hops, some pine. Flavor was well balanced, lemons, grapefruit, grass, earth, slight caramel, light cracker, some lactic sourness. Medium bodied with a slightly sour finish. I might have tried this too late for the hops and too soon for the funk.

750ml corked and caged bottle.Amber-brown color with a massive off-white head. Lots of sour funk in the aroma, as well as some crisp hops with citrus tones. Wow, the wild yeast really turn this one into a new creature. Bitter and hoppy still, there is an in your face sour edge to the beer, not quite as sour as an authentic lambic, more merged into the big picture.. There are also some smooth caramel malt tones. This is quite a unique beer, with a lot of flavors going on. The aroma has probably turned a little, considering the bottle is almost 9 months old. Very new school, experimental, and quite fascinating, I find myself reinterpreting this beer after each sip, noticing some other subtle nuance.

Bottle Thanks to ditmier for sharing. Pours out a dark amber with some orange highs. Topped with a tall cream head. Aroma is of brett, bread, some yeast and spic. Taste a lot more of the bread yeast and spice. A little citrus zest and some malt.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-caramel color with a huge fluffy orange-white head that lingered. The aroma was tart, tangy and lightly sweet with noted brett and citrus. The flavor was bretty, musty, tart and sour with notes of orange, citrus and floral hops. The finish was long. Fairly full bodied. Tased like a tart and hoppy Orval. Well done.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light orange with very thick white head. Aroma has an interesting combination of hops (pine and orange citrus) and sour notes (grapefruit). Flavor is more hoppy with mainly pine notes but a bit of citrus as well. The sour is a lot less present on the tongue.
