A traditional brown ale brewed using the renowned British aromatic hop East Kent Goldings. Medium bodied with nice malt character. This is a dark and flavorful ale.

How about it - a new SN beer to rate after all these years! This one comes across as a pretty standard brown ale, with a reddish-brown color, medium head, and notes of cocoa, caramel, and maybe a touch of coffee in both aroma and flavor. Hopping is light, as expected. Light to medium body. However, there was something else I couldn’t quite put my finger on, and the best I could say is that it had a "yum" factor...sort of a sweet alcohol type of effect that was somewhat remiscient of abbey dubbel. It was nice and bumps this beer up over most brown ales.

Bottled. Ruby red color, small white head. Brown sugar aroma, sweetish. Grassy hoppy, underlying sweetness. Very American despite of using East Kent Golding.

An ordinary brown ale. Unpleasant herbal character to the aroma. Flavor has malt, very light hops and just a touch of nuttiness. Some flavor of roasted barley as well. A decent but conservative beer that doesn’t take any chances and might get a few customers who decide to branch out from Newcastle.

Bottle pours a clear deep brown with slight redish hues. nice full light tan head. Aroma is mild woody malt. Flavor is a bit bitter and astringent with the usual woody, malt flavors as well. Hopped a bit more than Im use to for the style. Finishes a bit thin and dry. Average.

12 oz Bottle Pours out dark amber. Topped with a light tan head. I do like this but still nothing will top the ROGUE HazelNut Brown. thanks to Indiana_Red

Bottle: transparent brown color with a frothy tan head. Nice malt flavors with hints of hops, grains, some nuttiness, and a bit of toffee. The depth of the flavor is medium, the finish is smooth and mild.
