12oz bottle shared at the KnutAlbert meet up at The Rake, Borough Market. Brown/amber colour with beige head. Bit of bad malt on aroma, but some nice choc too. Choc milkshakey flavour, it’s very choccy and milky in fact. SN hops are there too. It’s ok and I didn’t pick up on the puke aroma as others did.

A brown ale that is not sweet at all, but is still nice and full of flavour. Just had one bottle of this, but I definately enjoyed it. A little bit on the bitter side of things. Definately would drink this nice beer another time if I get the chance.

Clear red-brown body with fine sediment, thin off-white head. Expected aroma of toast and chocolate, paired with earthy hops. Strongly carbonated body bites the palate, and with that bite notes of toast and baker’s chocolate, followed by a surprisingly bitter, long hoppy finish. Pretty much everything I look for in a brown ale.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 8 Oct) Dark amber colour with off-white head. Malty nose with toffee, chocolate and spicy, citrussy hop aromas. Malty, nutty taste with toffee and notes of citrus in the finish. An ok brown ale, but not really exciting.

Pour is a cola brown with a huge white head. Aroma is a nice mix of malts and caramel. One of the most malty browns i have ever had. Flavor is malts with maybe some cinnamon and brown sugar. Very tasty for a brown, which is not one of my most fav styles.

How about it - a new SN beer to rate after all these years! This one comes across as a pretty standard brown ale, with a reddish-brown color, medium head, and notes of cocoa, caramel, and maybe a touch of coffee in both aroma and flavor. Hopping is light, as expected. Light to medium body. However, there was something else I couldn’t quite put my finger on, and the best I could say is that it had a "yum" factor...sort of a sweet alcohol type of effect that was somewhat remiscient of abbey dubbel. It was nice and bumps this beer up over most brown ales.
