This light-colored, refreshing ale is THE beer of Cologne. Well balanced and mild mannered, this beer is great for summer.

Close, but lacking some of the pure grain sweetness. Nice foamy head and lacing, but slightly cloudy. Hay, bready aroma, taste mostly white bread. Abrupt, flat finish.

A hazed blonde kolsch with a thin white head. In aroma, light biscuit malt with grassy hops, grainy notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity biscuit malt with light grassy hops, light grainy notes, pedestrian.

Reviewed from notes.
Most of the time I’ve had this, it was poured into a pint glass, but a couple of times I had it in a stange. Honestly, I didn’t see much difference.
The appearance was a nice looking golden color with a fast rising carbonation to be seen. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess that dies practically immediately. There was some super light lacing left gracing the sides of the glass.
The smell embodied a full grainy assortment of corns, barley and wheat, all combined evenly sweet.
The taste was basically the same with a nice sweet corn aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a good sessionable aspect allowing this one to perhaps be consumed in large quantities if they wanted to. The carbonation seems to be just a tad under as it just seemed like this was just too drinkable.
Overall, for the most part, I say this was a nice take by an American brewer for the style, different but still nice.

Not bad for style. Hint of sourness reminiscent of the brewer’s nasty aunt. Pours clear orange with decent head and lacing. Mostly malt with a little malt but not a huge amount of overall character. Tap at Churchkey.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of buttery notes with light cereal notes also discernible. Taste is also dominated by unrefined grainy notes with light buttery aftertaste. Body is about average with medium carbonation. Definitely not as good as most example of the style.

On tap at Bier Station. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong bread aroma with underlying earthy grains. Flavor has bread throughout with hints of sweet grain and light grass.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Zvika’s place. Thanks zvikar. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is a bit oxidized, with a bit of skunk, a bit of malt, and a bit of graininess. Sweetish flavor with bready malt, light graininess and a mildly bitter finish with notes of grassy hops. Light to medium-bodied.

12oz bottle. Hazy yellow-orange body. Thin, patchy, white head. Approaching macro brewhouse aroma. Zesty, fresh, lots of orange citrus. Doesn’t really strike me as true to style, but it isn’t a bad Golden Ale. Straightforward, with big fruity ale tones. Has a nice zesty bite. OK.

Tap @ Schalfly St. Louis. Pours a fairly clear yellow appearance with a white head. Sweet straw, light herbal aroma. A touch sweet, mostly dry, pale malty, a bit floral flavor. Simple but drinkable.
