A deep amber ale with a rich and smooth flavor. Malty undertones of vanilla and caramel are kept in check with the addition of Magnum, Golding and Fuggles hops.

Drought. Dark amber with very small foamy beige head, doughy aroma, low carbonation, slightly bittewr taste. Medium finish with a little bitter aftertaste. Not very remarkable.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a copper/red, slightly brown colored body and leaves a nice off-white two finger foamy head that lasts for a good two minutes. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. Some minimal spotty lacing is seen here and there.
The smell has some grainy nuttiness backed up with some slight malty breadiness.
The taste has pretty much the same smells in the flavoring.
The palate sits about a medium with some slight harshness on the tongue. The aftetaste is dry. I would say this is fairly drinkable.
Overall, as much as I like browns, this one hmmm. . . I kinda don’t think I’d come back to. Why? Well, probably because there are too many other browns that I enjoy more. Its just another average brown.

12 oz bottle from Bert’s Better Beers. Used a pint. Head dissipated fast. No lace. Flavor is a blend of malt, sugar and very light fruit hop notes. Finish is a weak nuttiness, just a touch of bitterness. Overall very “Run of the Mill”

Bottle. Clear brown pour with a small, off-white head. Subtle malt aroma. Flavor is lightly roasted malts and faint hops. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Finishes with light sweetness. Not bad.

Pours light brown into a shaker. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Dark caramel and sweet dried fruit aromas. Dry with sweet caramel malt upfront turning fruity in the lasting slightly hopped finish.

Cask at Churchkey. Muddy chestnut color with very scant bubbles and no lacing. Aroma of untreated pine and caramel. Decent malt flavor, but could use just a touch more hops. Fairly thin body. Not much finish.

Overall Impression: These guys make a decent Brown, it isn't a standout, but it is something you can enjoy pretty reasonably.
