Tap at Blind Tiger. Typical IPA pour. Inviting, citrusy hop aroma. Pretty smooth flavor, with delcious fruity hop notes. Smooth finish as well, with a nice mildly lip-smacking aftertaste. I highly recommend.

Nice orange coloured body with a large white head. Aroma of potent hops, alcohol, malt and even more strong hops. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong hoppy flavours up front with a good malt backbone and some yeast coming through as well, all finished off by an apricot sweetness. Aftertaste shows more hops, bittering the palate, but with a refreshing finish along with the warming alcohol sensation. A good Imperial IPA, but not my favourite style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 02-October-2009 sampled in Washington on 17-October-2009.

Bottle thanks to cavie. Pours with a large white head with good lace over a yellow body. Aroma of strong alcohol, orange and caramel. Taste is alcohol, hops, burn and bitter. Really an aggressive beer, maybe too aggressive, but a real step up from the typical Otter Creek mediocrity. Light bubbles with low residual sweetness.

22 ounce bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop in Durham, NC. Pours a clear copper color with a large creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Bitter hop aroma with citrus and resin notes along with a very strong caramel maltiness. Taste is big toffee and caramel with very bitter citrus and resin hop notes. Lingering hop burn. Medium bodied.

On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont Circle. Pale straw colored. Aroma of flowers and flour. Very very hoppy taste, full mouth, bitter pils-like finish. Nice.

Bomber. Pours a clear copper gold with a medium frothy off white head that diminishes quickly leaving behind good sticky lacing. The aroma is a strong floral hops with grapefruit and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop taste with caramel and pine with a bitter finish. Hides the alcohol okay, a very good IIPA from Otter Creek.

Imperial pint cask @ RnH. Beautiful cask head, soapy but never goes down. Hazy copper-amber color. Aroma is cask, musky British hops. Musky British malts as well, all taken to the max though. The flavor is similar but a bitterness that was not present on the nose. Long bitterness lasts throughout the beer and long into the aftertaste.

Location: 22 oz bomber from State Line, 8/27/09

Aroma: Pine, floral, citrus, bit of caramel, grapefruit
Appearance: Slightly hazy orange color, creamy off-white head
Flavor: Nice hoppiness, some juicy sweetness, bit of caramel malts too, hoppy/bitter but balanced too
Palate: Smooth and easy drinking, medium-fully body, really nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I'm pretty impressed by this beer. Nicely done by Otter Creek, a really good IIPA for sure, and not too shabby at 11% and 135 IBU. I hadn't seen or heard anything about this beer before, but they should add this to their regular line-up if they haven't already.

**Just submitted a Photo for this one as well, as it was missing one.

On tap at Vintage in Boardman, really nice place. A pale lager looking beer but it has a big giant foamy head that hangs for a while. Hoppy flowery aroma. Oily mouth feel like chewing on grapefruit rinds. Surprizingly fruity when compared to other IIPA. Long bitter lasting finish that just won’t go away. More acceptable to me than most IIPA. What can be said but just palin on style. Too much for a lager lover.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel-orange color with a huge orange-beige foamy head that lingers. The flavor was sweet, fruity, leafy and piney hops. The flavor was bitter, tangy, fruity and piney hops with undertones of nut and sour caramel. Somewhat sweet and nicely full bodied. The finish was long piney and resiny. Well done.
