35cl can in Shinjuku, expensive. Pours murky pale yellow color almost milky. Creamy white head, persistent. Aroma of wheat, flour, banana, pizza dough, light spice. Taste is balanced. Average carbonation light to medium body. Nice weizen from Japan.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a nice medium white foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of light wheat flavours with some residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of wheat flavours with some residual sugar notes and light bubble-gum notes. Body is full for style with good carbonation. Not bad but complexity/drinkability were not as high as I had expected.

"Silver bottle" in Oviedo, Spain. Hazy amber color, with a medium white head, fading. Aroma of banana and spices. Taste is sweet but balanced, caramel, licorice, spicy on the tongue. Medium carbonation. A good beer, I liked it.

35cl can from a beer shop in Kyoto. Pours hazy murky yellow with a white head. Fruity aroma with notable banana, some yeasty and wheaty notes and hints of spices. Moderate sweet with nice fruity flavours and a certain acidity. Tasty, balanced and refreshing!

At the 8th tasting (round 1), held at Vlada’s Beerville pub in Belgrade-Serbia. Can courtesy of KansaiBeer Lvrs, many thanks mate! Pours cloudy golden-weizen color, medium tick white foamy head. Nose: clove, banana, bakery smell, fresh and clean aroma. Mouth: clean, balanced, well-done. Mild feel of wheat, bread crumb, lovely. Bravo!

Can bought at Food & Company in Gakugei-Daigaku. Poured into an English tulip. Beautiful hazy straw color with a huge white head. Smells of banana and papaya with some clove on the nose. Mostly wheat on the palate with some corriander, clove and pepper noticeable as well. Good carbonation and texture. Nice peppery finish.

Can. For some reason I thought this was a lager so I served it in a footed pilsner glass, imagine my surprise when it pour a cloudy gold with a solid head of white foam - ummm... that looks like a weizen. One whiff, bready wheat and cloves with a bit of a fruity tang. Label check, yep made with wheat. I am just confused as to why they are selling a beer made with wheat as Komugi no Beer and another beer made with wheat as Weizen... I think the body on this one is slightly thinner. I switched to my weizen glass, a subtler nose and a fuller mouthfeel. The taste is a protein rich wheatiness & cloves, with a smooth silky body - in the pilsner glass the carbonation came off a bit rough. The flavor is nicely balanced but a bit mild. I like it and I guess it might be slightly different from the other Ginga Kogen Weizen... I think I need to try them side by side or talk to someone at the brewery...
