Enjoyed as part of a sampler at Oggi’s in Garden Grove, CA. Appearance dark amber with not much head. Aroma more of an English IPA, dominated by malts with a light hop backing. Taste brings out more of the citrus elements, the maltiness actually goes away a bit, which is unique. It’s decent.

22oz bomber. Unfiltered glowing orange-brown color, frothy off-white head. Fresh citrus aroma, somewhat subdued. Fresh orange citrus notes with a toasty malt background. Hop centered, this is a really nice example of a West Coast IPA. Somewhat dry, quite refreshing.

On tap. Must have been a REALLY old keg as this was faded! Pours with a white head and a clear golden body. Aroma is herbal, citrus and light caramel. Taste is faded, old and WAY TOO SWEET. Has to be old. This is on tap, but where are the hops? Malt tea! Light bubbles, malty, bubbly.

2009-10-22, bottle from Magnum’s, Phoenix, AZ, 7-3-7-4-14=35
Cloudy deep blond color; small creamy head. Fruity hop aroma, oranges, a bit flowery; apples too. Rich toffee flavor, medium bodied; strong hopping, partially fruity and boldly resiny; the final is strong, tannic and resiny. Bold sample.

2009-10-14, draught at the brewpub, Scottsdale, AZ, 6-3-6-4-13=32
Cloudy blond color. The aroma is lightly fruity (pineapple). Average body strength, strong caramel and toffee flavor, very strong bitterness, with some hop oils but just light fruits. It’s not a bad beer, but of all the IPA’s is one of the more basic.

22oz bottle:
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy copper with a white head and some lace
Aroma: Citrus and pine hops
Taste: Hops are the first thing to hit your tongue, they mellow out and finishes with a sweet malt.
Well balanced between hops and malt.

Bottle via trade from cbkschubert. Pours hazy dark golden color with fluffy white head. Sweet, bready aroma with some floral and pine hops. Modrerately bitter flavor with pine hops and just a touch of malt sweetness. Nicely balanced IPA. Medium body with lively carbonation and a slightly dry finish. Thanks Craig.
