330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Feb 22. Thanks Simon for this! Pours a deep hazed brown, small beige head. Lots of burnt toffee, thick caramelised malt and a pokey whisky presence. Fairly boozy overall. Decent.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Green apples, whisky, dried fruit in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with apples, dried fruit, vanilla, whisky. Maybe a hint of peat. Quite decent.

Bottle, many thanks Benzai! Hazy amber color with eggshell head. Aroma is a touch of fudge, toffee, cocoa, wood, hot chocolate, dried apricots, also green apples, a little bit phenolic. Taste is apricots, fudge, milk chocolate, caramel. Oily mouthfeel, low carbonation. Decent Barleywine, though not the most intense nor best.

Bottle shared @ Koelschtrinker's Tasting. Smooth fresh floral beginning. Dark fruity with woody whisky in the back, getting stronger till the end. Round and smooth, not too intense woody whisky there, fruity dark malty parts with a high drinkability. Ok.

Sampled @ Koelschtrinker Tasting. A hazy dark orange brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of strong caramelish sweet malt, liqourice, Vanilla. Taste of strong riped fruits, caramel, wood, red grapes.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before April 2020. Almost clear, dark reddish amber with a light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, dark honey and some green apples. Quite sweet, malty, a bit fruity taste of caramel, molasses, dark honey and green apples, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly woody and moderately boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not that good, again the green apple disease.

Süß alkoholischer, deutlich holziger Beginn. Ähnlichkeiten zu Soja-Sauce, zu trocken, mittellanger Nachhall. Nett, mir aber nicht harmonisch genug, zu viel Sojasauce. 9/9/9/8/6/9

On tap at HaandFest. It pours a dark brown body, almost clear, with a finger thick dark beige head. Caramel, alcohol, dried fruits, notes of dark chocolate and some woody notes. Not really whisky-ish in any way, except there's alcohol present. The flavor has a decent bitterness to deal with the caramel sweetness, there's dried fruits and hints of chocolate and even a peated twist. Tannins. Full body, some alcohol warmth and a nice carbonation, and a long finish. A fine brew, well suited for contemplation. 170526

donker bruin met licht kraag. aroma is zoet, alcoholisch, graan, whisky, lichte turf, aroma is aardig. smaken zijn zacht, glad en romig, alcohol, donker fruit, rozijn, kandij suiker, toffee, caramel, graan, whisky, lichte turf, zoet, groene appels, vijgen, lichte plastic, boerenjongens, vanille, redelijk zoet, matig bitter, matig tot redelijke body, aardige B.A. maar niet de beste variant van de 17.xx
