Full on weizen taste but not so much banana but it’s there. Something else fruity too. Feels full on in the mouth too.

Pale and quite cloudy. Big frothy head. Big banana nose. Fizzy, quite sweet, bordering on unbalanced, mucho vanilla.

Bottle from Tokyu in Sapporo. Pours a hazy golden straw with a huge pillowy white head. Big creamy banana aroma with some clove, lemon and white pepper. Taste is more of the same. Backlog, bottled, enjoyed in 2008. Color is quite dark for a Weizen (ref: Schneider). Aroma’s of wheat, malt/grain, sour fruit. Flavor is true Weizen, wheat-malty, refreshing. Flavor lingers for a long time and there’s even a hint of bitterness.

I had this on tap at the brewery in Otaru and again recently from a take-away bottle. It has a lightly spiced aroma, fairly weak for a hefeweizen but has the classic hefeweizen look pouring a cloudy golden color with lots of foam, good lacing and slow dissipated. The taste is an of an average white beer. Otaru seems to make solid beers to style. Overall, it is good but not outstanding.

Tap at Leibspeise, Sapporo fall 2009. Banana, peach and wheat. Cloudy, orange yellow, golden cream. Creamy mouthfeel. Sticky fruitsalad flavour. A bit dusty.

On tap at the brewery tap in Sapporo. Cloudy, slightly darker than usual. Very fragrant, with pears, spices, a touch of citrus, and the requisite bananas. Rich, thick malt flavor. Smooth, crisp. Slightly sour, with bananas and pears. Excellent. Great balance. Good sourness. Interesting, highly original fruit character.

[Bottled] Cloudy dark yellow. Estery strawberry aroma. Dryish with soft mouthfeel. The flavours go more towards lemon or citrus than banana. Cloces are evident. The dryness and softness makes it very refreshing.
