A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a beautiful sweet chocolate with Bourbon barrel and licorice, dark fruits and light soy and alcohol warmth. In mouth, a great sweet chocolate covered maraschino cherry with Bourbon, alcohol, dark plums, licorice and cold coffee, rich and smooth.

On tap @ In De Wildeman. Color as good as black, opaque. Beige head. Aroma’s: drop (licorice), laurel/bay leaves, hopbitter, some fruit, some sweetness retronasal. Flavor is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Light ash in the finish and then bitter. Nice beer, but I fail to detect the JD, alas.

GBBF. Opaque black beer. Small pale tan head. Smooth softish palate. Semi dry. Smooth dark malt with a little lacto sweetness. A bit of JD in the background. Minerals. Semi dry finish. Decent, hides it abv very well and is dangerously drinkable!
