Gueuze Cuvée René is one of the jewels of our brewery. With its golden colour, its sparkle and its beautiful sherry aromas, this is the queen of gueuzes.
This old gueuze is a blend of old and young lambic matured in large oak barrels called foudres. It is then bottled in a beautiful champagne bottle where a second fermentation takes place. After 6 months, the gueuze obtains a golden colour and is slightly carbonated and tart. But kept in a cellar for a few years, it becomes truly exceptional!

Bottle. Crisp, dry smell. Clear deep golden color. Taste was, (whew!) sour. Slightly dry but sour. Maybe a slight citrus taste but sour. Did I mention it was sour.

nice golden/orange pour, a great lambic nose. Lots of dry funk, and wet hay, a real treat. Flavor is much of the same with a crisp sourness, and a lovely funk, and a great sour bit in the finish. A really nice lambic, much better than i expected.

Gentle aroma of fruits, oak, apricot, white wine, hint of funk. Flavour starts out tart and evolves into a medium sourness. Quite enjoyable Geuze.

Аромат классический для данного стиля, немного ягод, легкая кислота от лимона. Цвет красивый, солидный,пенка белая. Вкус очень питкий, весьма сильная карбонизация при этом. Ощущаются легкие сухофрукты по началу. При глотке далее идет легкая кислота, немного цедры и лимона. Хорошо ощущается хмелевые нотки, ну и конечно сухость. Особо много ягод я тут не нашел, хотя нотки смородины есть. В целом отличный классический Гёз. Странно что у него не большой рейтинг.

A very tasty and approachable gueuze. Medium acidity, lemon, citrus, hay, earth, cherries. There is a noticeable sour bite to it throughout but it is a bit reserved. Mouth is medium with nice carbonation and not overly dry. Finish lingers with tart fruit notes.

Trübe goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Fruchtiger, säuerlicher, an Weißwein erinnernder Geruch. Geschmacklich ebenso fruchtig säuerlich mit Weißweinnote, Citrus und grünem Apfel. Leicht süß mit mittlerer Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.
