Great beer, malty, vanilla, whisky shines through nicely. Definitely aged well.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Malt, dried red fruit and hints of roast and peat in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with red fruit, whisky and hints of iodine. Quite alcoholic.

Semi opaque dark amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth light palate, modest fine carbonation. Mildly tangy malts, a little creamy caramel. Bouncy fruity whisky, smooth and tasty. Very mild spice. Just a bare whisper of something solvent like, really no issue. Ripe fruity whisky finish. Could do some damage here!

0.33 l bottle from ’drankgigant.nl’, bottled in March 2015, cellared for almost two years. Dark brown to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky and a bit fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, prunes, cherries, oak, tobacco and some peat. Rather sweet, malty, slightly yeasty, moderately smoky and a bit fruity taste of caramel, raisins, prunes, vanilla, peat, licorice root and some tobacco, followed by a long, moderately bitter, moderately peaty and very boozy, warming finish. Medium to full body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very complex stuff, smells really good, taste is a bit less especially because of all that booze.

Bottle courtesy of Linus. Hazy dark chestnut brown pour with a small frothy beige head. Caramel & toffee malts nose with light roast. Hint of charred wood, smoke & vanilla. Sweet, bitter & malty taste. Round, tiny astringent & tiny boozy mouthfeel. Quite nice.

33 cl bottle at home. Very dark color. Light beige head with some retention. Aroma’s: sweet, toffee, boozy (not necessarily whisky), light fruit. Retronasal it’s boozy, whisky, sweetness, fruit. Flavor is rather sweet, but not too sticky. Strong alcohol feel, warming. Medium bodied. Finishes with some earthy bitterness that doesn’t fit so well. And after a while the booziness starts to be a bit off-putting. Next.
