The Enfant Terriple is put for 6 months on cherries: 250 g sour, un-pitted cherries per litre beer. During this time, the bacteria are given time to digest all sugars even further and to let the soft natural souring have its way. Meanwhile, the cherries slowly donate their blood-red colour and their succulent taste. Part of this cherry also is transferred to the oak wine barrels where it – in a grow-bed of lactobacillus – during a year adds further to a woody souring and softening. The result is a triple-kriek ‘pur sang’. With this, a new saint is added to the Cuvée family of Brewery De Leite. The Cuvée Soeur’Ise, is a wink to cherry in French (= ‘cerise’). The divine saint has already seduced many, all over the world!

Reddish purple colour, small white head. Aroma is mild tart fruits with some red sweet berries as well as some mild toffeeish and biscuity tones. Flavour is cherries, some mild red grapes, a bit alcohol, spicines and oaky tones to it. Quite intense and nice.

330 ml bottle from the Lcbo.
Deep red pour, with a small lightly pink head. Aroma is very tart, touches of barnyard, and a deep cherry tartness. The body and carb is good, and balanced. The finish is very tart, with hints of lambic sourness. Loads of great sour fruit, cherries and random berries. The oak ageing isn’t very apparent, does seem to add to the beer, but it doesn’t detract either. A great summer sour ale.

Aromas are sour funk, spice, floral, malt, a little cherries. Flavors are similar to nose with again a little cherry, medium tart and a little malt. A touch of sweet in the back to balance. Good body and satisfying finish. Wish there was a little more cherry.

Sampled at Max's Belgian Fest 2024. Pours a clear, cherry red with some pink head. Nose has candy, cherry, raspberry. Flavor is clean, sweet but not overly, red fruits. Off dry and lightly sour finish. Balanced. Nice enough.

Bottle at Contrabande, Brussels. Intensely deep ripe dark cherry skin aroma. Deep red look. Sweet Sweet taste with deep unsettling sourness. More like a Flanders red sournss than a lambic. Not really my type of kriek but decent and strong! (26/10/23).

Bottle from Systembolaget. Didn't realise id had this before! Gorgeous cherry aroma. Plain cherry red. Taste isn't as phenomenal as initial deep pleasure suggests. Quite quick to go but barrel remains. 7 to 7.3. (8/1/26).
