Brugse Zot Blond is a golden blond beer with a rich foam collar and a fruity yet spicy bouquet. The beer is brewed with four different kinds of malt and two aromatic varieties of hop which give the beer its inimitable taste.
The palate is complex and tends towards a certain bitterness. Even hints of citrus can be discovered. Brugse Zot is a natural beer, born out of a selection of only the best ingredients. The refermentation in the bottle creates a longer natural preservability.
EBC 13, 13.5° plato.

Yeast, malt, and spices aroma. Taste on caramelised malt, yeast, and spices including coriander. Light bitterness.

Tap on site. Unfiltered golden bright with medium white head lowering rather quickly. Nose: mild spicy a bit citric. Mouth: frizzy carbonation, tangerine, lemon.

Spicy clove aroma. Taste starts sweet but quickly turns bitter with a spicy clove and grapefruit finish. More bitter than most blondes.

On tap at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden orange with a medium sized white head and good lacing. The aroma is restrained, but quite sweet with yeast, orange peel and hints of banana. In the mouth there’s an immediate yeasty sharpness overlaying a creamy texture. Quite hoppy but with underlying biscuits and malts plus hints of cloves, lemon and apples. Finish is dry and slightly spicy. This is excellent – a beer that grabs your attention from the first sip.

330 ml bottle from the brewery in Brugge, Belgium. Pours a mostly clear gold color with a very large white head and annoyingly great retention. Decent lacing. Belgian yeast aroma. Smells just like the other De Halve Maan beer. Tastes like it too. Soft Belgian yeast flavor with some subtle fruity esters in the finish. Again, this is not my favorite style, but this is tolerable and well made. Medium body and soft carbonation. Low bitterness.

0,33 bottle. Foolish... The color is average, light gold, head is not too thick and not too long-lasting. It smells sweet, malty, average Belgian ale, not bad. More carbonated than medium, more densely carbonated, not too full-bodied. It opens with a citrus aftertaste, little bitterness, sweet, candy-sugary, alcohol is not noticeable. It wasn't outstanding at all. In the end, I say that it also has hop bitterness. I would call it an average Belgian ale, but it was delicious!
***
Bolondos.

Color dorado, turbio, espuma blanca bien retenida.

33 cl bottle at Sheraton Brussels Airport's Gullivers lounge, served in its own glass, May 9 2023. A dark golden to amber pour with a thick but not overwhelming snow-white head. Aroma is very low: lemon, bread, grass. Dry, crisp, medium to high carbonation. Slightly bitter, with a grassy aftertaste. Easy to drink, easy to forget.
