Bottle @ Gents bierfestival 2015. Dark brown colour, thin head. Soft carbonation. Sweet nose of caramel or maple with bitter roasty coffee notes. Light tartness. Balance is ok, not bad!

Bottle at gent beer festival. Pours black, nose is massive roasted coffee, chocolate, charcoal, taste is bitter, roasted, huge coffee, light maple syrup.

Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015 Fast schwarzes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Kaffee, Vanille, Schokoladig. Der Geschmack ist bitter röstmalzig, Vanille, Kaffee.

Sample @ 6de Gents Bierfestival 2015. Brune foncée/noire, col épais crémeux moka. Apparemment souffrant de problème pour servir vu que cette dernière fut servie dans une cruche. Arôme est malté, note grillé-café assez prenant le tout sur un fin rétro érable apportant une certaine douceur en rétro. Palais est malté, grillé, café sur un léger côté amer des houblons. Ces derniers tirent un peu vers une approche américaine principalement avec un profil agrumes. Balance est correcte, fini sec mais dont le caractère s’allie plus à une impression de Black IPA que de porter. Le côte érable reste un peu en retrait n’apportant, au final, pas vraiment bcp.

(Thx! for sharing) Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. Dark brown, little tanned. Nose is big on chocolate roast, burned malts, herbal, some light instant coffee. Taste is herbal, big on herbal coffee, charcoal, burned malts, licorice, caramel, instant coffee & light sugar. Grainy & bit thin body. A bit meh, not much in the way of coffee & I am getting absolutely no maple here.

Head gone, some lace over brown-black beer. Sweet coffee nose, liquorice, some wood, caramel. Bitterish coffee, coffeedrab, some caramel (or maple syrup, not definite), dullish. Quite well-bodied feel, thick & slick; slowly fading flavours. Oh well, yeah, another one - not bad.
