An evidently dense black body with a thin light tan head. The nose hints at dark fruit, coffee and citrus hops. This is another monster IS by Mikkellar, but it does not produce as unified a taste profile as some others. Big berries, chocolate, bitter coffee and some hops. There is a slight venous undertaste at work here and the bitterness of the hops and coffee are a touch too strong in the finish. Overall, tasty and rich, but quite sweet and a bit jagged in the aftertaste.

21/09/26 Aromat sos sojowy, owoce wiśni, paloność, kawa, popiół, pieczarki, trufle cukierki. Nagazowanie średnie. Z wyglądu idealnie piana prawie brązowa, drobna, Czarne nie przejrzyste. Smak słodki na początku kończy się popiołową goryczką wręcz. Poza tym czekolada, kakao. Goryczka jest bardzo intensywna chmielowa jak i palona Finisz bardzo gorzki. Gładkie ciało rozgrzewające, alkohol ukryty w smaku, myślałem że będzie gęściejsze Ogólnie bardzo agresywna goryczka aż łzy ciekną z oczu, alko rozbiera szybko, wybitnie degustacyjne

Black pour, very large brown head. Super boozy nose, loads of charred burnt malts. Subtle dark fruit, loads of coffee, soy and black pepper. Incredibly oily mouth feel, with a surprisingly lively carb. The finish is incredibly bitter with long lingering booze and bitterness. This could definitely use some age. This is just alot of charred, burnt malts, with alot of booze.

Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, burnt rubber, liquorice, coffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a massive bitterness in the aftertaste. A bit boozy, but judging by the taste (as opposed to my hand-eye coordination) I wouldn’t have guessed it’s that high. Frankly, hard to rate because it’s such a beast of a beer. Lots of dark chocolate and burnt rubber. Massive.

Black with a creamy, light brown head. Soy sauce and marshmallow aroma. Chocolate. Taste is sweet , a mix of brown sugar and dough reminiscent of brownies. Sweet but not cloying. Full bodied, mild carbonation. Decent dessert beer. 3.7

An almost black beer, no head. Aroma of intense woody dark malt, tobacco, dark fruits, whisky. Taste of heavy strong mid sweet dark malt, toffee, bourbon, tobacco, wood. Boozy finish.

Bottle 0,37ltr: Black brew with almost no but brown head. High in alcohol with an vine or liquor taste and an great stuff to got an good night rest. And the symbol means "Black" by the way.

Poured from 375mL bottle (abv listed as 17%; vintage 2014). Very dark brown with small tan head. Dry bitter roast, dark fruits, some soya sauce, a bit of boozy heat, feint ash. Quite intense, would have trouble finishing a bottle by myself, but nice to share.
