A West Coast Double IPA
So mega-hopped it will take you to hop heaven. We’ve used hops in the boil, more hops in the giant hopback, and added to that, an incredible amount of dry-hopping for that cutting-edge “hop bite.” Once you’ve tasted this unique beer, all others pale in comparison. 1.072 OG Classified IBU 8%ABV

Small shaker showing dark amber. The nose shows sweet tropical fruits. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Big malty flavors perfectly balance and compliment big clean pine flavors. Once again with barely any bitterness on the finish. My god, do these guys know how to make an awesome IPA.

Bottle at WWT. Clear light golden with small white head. Lots of nice aromatic hops, some lime peel, basilicum, massive skunky weed, I feel Like I’m in some local coffeeshop here. Light herbs and some sour grains. Medium bodied.

Bottle @ WWT IV. Clear a bit pale golden color, full sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts and hops but less hoppy than I had expected. Taste malts, hops, bitter. I miss fruity hops in this. I wouldn’t say this is a double IPA in a blind tasting. Medium body and carbonation. Too bad, but I’m a little disappointed by this.

Tasting at Jack’s RAH Annexe! Lightly hazy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, semi dry. Good fine carbonation. Airy malts, trace of caramel. Hops are lovely light pine, mild skunk, spicy tropical fruits. Light airy finish. Delicious!

Bottle at Chateau Jackl, a nice extra from a recent IP trade, 13/08/14. Lightly hazed golden amber with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is bitter pine, spice, cedar wood, bitter grapefruit notes, toasty ring, hops and plenty of them. Taste comprises floral notes, pine resin, bitter grapefruit, orange pith, citric tinged straw. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Solid DIPA.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours lightly hazy golden-orange with a medium white head. The nose is big sherbet, orange, Diet Irn Bru, mango, apricot and candied peel. The taste is bitter, piney, varnish, orange peel, grapefruit, sherbet, peppery, sherbet, Irn Bru, grassy and dankness with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Clean and crisp. Rather nice.
