Bottle share with München Ratebeer tasting group at Jonas's house Garching. Monday 17th February 2020. Pours black peeling away to brown at edges, some soy sauce on the nose and a little tamarind. The sauce pointers leech into the mouth also and this is very much an old world take on the style.

Bottle, danke Günther. Darkest brown, nice dark brown brown. Dusty dry roast, caramel, some licorice, roast, umami/soy. Medium full dry body. Berry, burnt wood, smoke licorice, tart spicy, meaty finish. Nice balance of interesting flavors. Good stuff.

0.33 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', best before May 2019. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of milk chocolate, hazelnut, some coffee and traces of vanilla. Gently sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of milk chocolate, coffee, licorice and some hazelnut, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very pleasant RIS, comparably quaffable and extremely well-balanced. Well done!

Weicher, malzig-röstiger Beginn. Angenehme milde Süße, cremig, leichte Noten von Schokolade und Alkohol. Geringe Karbonisierung, steigend schokoladig. Vollmundig, zum Ende wenig bitter. Langer, dunkel malziger Nachgeschmack. 10/10/11/11/9/11

Bottle: Very deep amber coloured, presumably clear, small tanned foamy layer, moderate bitter-sweet nose of roasted malt, toffee and leather with herbal-hoppy spots; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; lingering dryish roasty and fruity finish with a increasing bitterness towards the aftertaste. Yes...
