Schwechater Wiener Lager, jetzt mit 5,3 %, Flasche von Getränke Hoffmann, Steglitz. - Dunkles Kupferrotbraun, klar. (3.2.2024.)

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear amber with a creamy, off-white head. Malty, slightly caramelly nose. Medium body, caramel and nuts, biscuity with sufficient balancing hops. Delicious. Beautiful bottle too. 181023

Good looking 0,5 l bottle and label art. Clear copper with a more than one finger pale beige head. Nice package. Low malt, little bit roasty aroma. Taste is malty, some caramel, more than toasted, present pleasant bitter hop. Fuity in the background. Mid carbonation. Good stuff.

Draught 30cl. poured into a stem glass. Brilliant deep amber colour, good frothy off-white to white head, good retention and fair lacing. Aroma toasted malts, caramel, grain, biscuit. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, light roast, grain, hay, light spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, malty sweetbitter aftertaste, light roast and caramel, tasty, nice.

Can 0.5 at home. Amber clear with orange highlights, medium lo low foam. Nose barley, malty with caramel. A bit rustic too. Mouth: medium-thin body, mild caramel followed by an herbal bitterness.

Can from Billa Franzosengraben. Lovely coppery body, beige thick head. Creamy caramelly, flowery aroma, soft, pleasant. Lean, dry, soft, sweetish caramelly-flowery taste... apart from a tart note killing it somewhat. This is likely 8 months old... and it didn't age that gracefully, but I can believe this is a very pleasant macro vieanna when it is... this can, however, isn't.

# 3228; 10/2022. Malty, bread, slightly skunk aroma. Brilliant dark copper body; off-white head. Strong skunk flavor kills the rest, malty, herbal, bread. Maybe quite good wiener lager but my speciman was full of skunk flavor. 0,5 l, green bottle (!), supermarket, Vienna.
