Bottle, gift from a friend. Aroma is coffee grounds, dark malt, some roast and chocolate, beany coffee. Flavour is moderate bitter and lightly sweetish, touch of sour coffee. Medium body. No shortage of coffee here.

Tap at Frisches Bier. Black, big brown cream. Hard roast notes, light rust, nose. Medium full dry roast body, burnt coffee, smoke, wood toast, very dry and unharmonic.

Starke Karbonisierung. 9/7/8/8/11/8

(bottle, 33cl) Black coloured hue with a brown but not very persistent frothy head. Roasty malty, slightly ashy and burnt aroma with notes of coffee, mocha and a mildly berry-fruity touch. Slightly bitter and sour-tart flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly fizzy carbonation. Dry and roasty malty base with notes of coffee and berry-fruity flavours, leading into the moderately roasty bitter and slightly tart finish. Not that impressing. 05.I.18

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Almost black beer with a mid-sized most good lasting tan head. Aroma of sweet and dark malt, chocoalte, some liquorice. Taste of roasted dark malt, chocolate, some coffee and liquorice.

33cl bottle from Holy Craft, Düsseldorf. Smooth malty sourish beginning. The beer is dusty roasted with sour fruity hints. Very interesting, round and refreshing with an interesting malty sourish aftertaste.

Fläschken: Literally black, medium-sized and slowly collapsing tanned head; sourish caramelly-fruity nose with yeast, roasted malt and coffee in the second row; dryish bitter-sourish flavour, nearly medium bodied, not so soft; lingering bitter-roasty finish with shy traces of coffee-grounds. Not really convincing...

0.33 l bottle from 'Britische Biere', best before December 2017. Black with a medium large, fluffy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, roasty and a little fruity aroma of lots of coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnut, some licorice and traces of dark fruits. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, quite roasty and slightly fruity taste of mainly coffee and dark chocolate, hazelnut, some licorice and quite a bit of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, medium roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium body, fairly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, a bit too heavy on the coffee maybe, could be creamier though.
