Tap at Cap Tap. Pours very dark brn/blk with a medium dark tan head. Aroma of very, very nice coffee. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, coconuts and maybe even some “nut grease”. Not dry, but far from sticky sweet. The malt is strong and dark, the drink is bitter. Burnt malt and/or hop for bitter. Hard for me to tell. Tastes very good.

On tap at the Solano Beach location, pours a dark black, oily. Lots happening, chocolate, nuts, coconut, booze, raisinette. Nose is excellent. Flavor is a bit overdone with sweetness, chocolate syrup, licorice, molasses, coconuts, cheap booze (both rum and whiskey), dried prune. Full bodied, sticky finish. 9 4 8 4 15

Sampled from tap at ’Craft Beer Corner’. Pitch black with a light brown head. Slightly sweetish, rather roasty aroma coffee, coconut, hazelnut, vanilla and some chocolate. Moderately sweet, malty and quite roasty taste of milk chocolate, lots of coffee, coconut, praline and some licorice, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty!

Dunkler Malzantrunk, röstig, fast etwas scharf. Aromen von Nüssen, sehr weich. Dieses Aroma wird schnell stärker, leicht herb, rund. Könnte vollmundiger sein, insgesamt aber sehr harmonisch. 8/10/11/11//11

On draft at Tap 25. It pours black with a light tan head. The aroma has some sweet coffee, caramel, cream and some noticeable coconut with a a hint of ashy roasted malt. The flavor is super smooth and creamy with big coffee and supporting notes of cocoa and coconut. Thick and creamy on the palate with low roasted malt. The coconut is kept in check mostly, but is definitely noticed. Rich and decadent. Right up there with Hawaiian Speedway and.....all those other hyped coconut imperial stouts. So good.
