Sampled at ACBF2017. Thnx for sharing, everyone! Pours clear, blonde, small white head. Smell is mildly sour, rather funky. Taste is full, sour, oaky, citrussy. Very nice, actually, but this pricepoint - just as the BIIR geuze - is rediculous ( it sells for in between 20 and 30 € in Belgian beershops, whilst a top-class geuze like 3f sells for about 10. I’d happily drink again, but I have questions about who’d actually buy it at this price. Another thing is that i’ll never see this being sold in a bar- it’s simply way to expensive. Try 1/3 - 1/4th of the price and we’ll talk again.

Sampled at ACBF 2017, Vichte. Semi-hazy golden pour with no head. Notes of apple cider, barnyard funk, horse blanket, dank mouldy cellar, citrus hops, lemonade. Medium body, light carbonation. Not bad! --- Beer merged from original tick of Oude Gueuze on 09 Mar 2017 at 17:24 - Score: 8

ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. 750 ml. bottle sampled. Hazy orange, creamy white head. Nose is what it should be, bright lambiek funk, dry, faintly rustic, raw grains, dry pepper, crisp. Too bad that the taste doesn’t fully deliver. Taste is bit malty upfront, falls bit flat, basic lemon, citrus, mellow, low sourness, almost faint sugar, lower on the side of funk, mellow horseblanket with clear malt,... faintly empty. Body is lightly empty, low sourness, clear malts, not as crispy as hoped. Overall good but there is better within the style, personally I liked the BIIR Gueuze a lot more which came from the same stable.

Small white rim over hazy yellow beer. Typical lambic nose with lemon, horseblanket, old wood and sulphur. Lemony gueuze, maybe less complex than the nose, tad of sweetness. Long lasting lemony flavours. Very good, resistent carbonation, acidthinning. Superb, amongst the best De Troch.

Sampled from tap at ACBF 2017 as ’Naparbier Oude Gueuze’. Clear, golden amber with a white head. Sourish-fruity, very funky aroma of lemon, gooseberry, rhubarb, oak, straw and barnyard. Moderately sour, dusty, funky and quite fruity taste of lemon, oak, sweat, barnyard, leather and gooseberry, followed by a medium long, moderately tart, very dry finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and quite effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely!
