A dark and complex brew full of malt and barrel derived flavors, with Parabola leading the brew into the rich darkness. XVIII is best enjoyed poured carefully into a half filled brandy snifter or wine glass. Allow it to warm to 55F to fully enjoy the pleasing and complex aromas. As the beer sits and breathes in the glass, rich dark chocolate, toasted oak and dark fruit character is revealed, so take your time.

355 ml bottle
Pours a dark brown with short tan head
Aromas of graham cracker, maple syrup, sweet raisins, sweet bourbon and bready malts. Flavors follow Sam but are dryer, less sweet and more boozy. Warm finish with cleaner malts.

Sought out at Aces and Ales last week, one of their put-away kegs obviously. I have had many of the brewery's anniversary ales through the years, they have all been good or better. The appearance was dark, almost black, with a barely covering skim of parchment tan foam. The smell was swell, cane syrup, molasses and cereal. The taste was really fine. Karo, hardy candy, cereal, malt and chocolate. Nice.

On Tap at BitterCreek Boise Dark brown pour with a thin dense tan head. Terrific blend of caramelized sugars, medium roast and touches of licorice and molasses. A bit boozy as the barrel aging character kicks in. Smooth and some lingering sweetness. Very good

Draught at Ginger Man, 10/11/18.
Mauve-chestnut.  Clear, I think.  Light tan head to ring.
Oatmeal raisin cookie nose.  Some alcohol, not aggressive, on the end. Lotta raisin, chocolate, caramel.  Super soft and aged but no oxidation.
Raisin, plum, toffee. Alcohol picking up. Light roast on end. Not too sweet.  Nuts, bourbon, vanilla.  Soft, malty, great carbonation.  Spicy rich.  But whew is it strong.  Good though.

Dark brown color. Light brown head. Tons of rolo candy, milk chocolate, vanilla oak, sherry in the nose. Light body, tons of oak, vanilla dark chocolate and bourbon. Very smooth. Well intrgrated and the flavors have meddle nicely after five year. Slight warming finish with vanilla going forever.
