Draught @ All In Beer Fest 2015. Pours viscous black with a creamy mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, moist soil, black pepper corns and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is oily, round, slightly roasted astringent, slightly boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, black pepper corns and bourbon alcohol. I remember trying this a couple of months ago at Fermentoren and then it was a plain uncarbonated imperial stout with close to no barrel presence. This is a beast compared to that so this is very much developing nicely. Big straight forward rye barrel aged imperial stout. Very tasty!

Night cap on tap at Fermentoren. Patchy beige head, decent lacing, devil-black body. Smell of chocolate and dark fruits. Flavoured with dark malts, bread, juicy rye, scotch, and dried fruits towards the ending. Well bodied and well balanced. Enjoying, however the Sherry version was even better (Copenhagen 03.05.2015).
