Hellshire…

Well shit. I was going to manipulate this in some dramatic way, but in the end I just decided to enter my rakes as I drank them and let the chips fall. So this is #10,000. Thanks to Matt for providing the tick! Pours opaque black, small brown head, dissipates fairly quickly, good lacing. Aroma is bourbon, cocoa, vanilla, molasses, leather. Flavor is medium plus sweet, full bitter. Full body. And on to the next 10k?

On tap. Pour black with short tan head. Aromas of sour black coffee, roasted malts, coconut and light wordy bourbon. Flavors follow same with dark sugary fruit, graham cracker, nuts and an emphasis on oaky bourbon. Still a nice balance. Tasty and complex.

Mooch tasting at Matt's
Black color, brown creamy head. Quite heavy aroma of roasted malt with some leather. Good body strength but also too much alcohol, chocolate, salty, a bit of soy sauce, maybe barrel. Good.

750mL bottle, pours back with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, alcohol, vanilla and light roast. Flavour is fairly sweet, with lots of vanilla, loads of brown sugar, heaps of bourbon, and alcohol. Very heavy and sweet, with lots of bourbon character. Nice stuff.

Quite dark. Bubbly head. On the nose, rich and chocolatey, with toffeeish notes and a shot of bourbon and alcohol. On the palate, this is hot, toffee and chocolate, and of course lots of bourbon. Unrefined...burly and crazy...but certainly there’s some good things in here.

Bottle - Boozy bourbon notes, bit harsh. Jet brown with a small brown head. Woody, dark toast, vanilla and some heat in the throat. Boozy and dark.
