330ml bottle. Jet black colour, some beige to tan bubbles on top, a thin, creamy, beige layer of tiny bubbles climbs up with some delay and settles beneath. Peaty and smoky, Whisky BA aroma, hints of leather, shoe polish, a touch of TCP, widely disguised. weak, dark malty background. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel and dark malty, well integrated peaty, smoky, leathery BA flavours; oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate. Relatively thin body, quite undercomplex for an Impy Stout, but nice balance of malty and BA flavours.

Bottle shared from the brewpub. Dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of whiskey, oak barrel, candy, light peat, overripe dark fruit, caramel, toffee, booze and sweet chocolate. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Light full bodied with light carbonation.

33cl bottle from the brewpub. Sehr dunkel orange braune Farbe, mittelgroße beige schaumkrone. Geruch ist dezent torfig rauchig, Kaffe. Geschmack ist kräftig röstmalzig, Kaffee, Whiskey, leicht torfig rauchig, alkoholisch, gut!

Dark brown black colour, dissipating tan head. Light smoky peat aroma, caramel, whisky, liquorice (laurierdrop), roasted malts, brown sugar, booze. Sweet malty flavour, brown sugar, whisky. Quite full body. Finish whisky, peat, caramel, liquorice.

Deep black with little dark brown head. Aroma is nuts, phenols, pepper. Taste is intense chocolate/brown sugar sweetness with some coffee bitterness. Spicyness in the throat. Very creamy texture, full body. Not bad but honestly too sweet.

Bottle. Black, brown ring. Woody, whiskey liquor, oxidized aroma, phenols. Full body, quite whiskey based, sweet, honey whiskey liquor, iodine finish. Heavy on the cask, allright.

0.33 l bottle from the brewpub as ’Braustelle Black Out’, shared with markoijelena, best before February 2018. Pitch black with a beige head. Sweetish, malty, roasty and quite peaty aroma of dark chocolate, some coffee, licorice, tar and ash. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty and quite peaty taste of dark chocolate, some coffee, licorice, ash and tar, followed by a rather long, moderately roasty-bitter, a little alcoholic and quite peaty finish. Full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Great stuff, I’m totally surprised, certainly underrated (must be a new batch, no brett or lacto here at all). Perfect balance between the sweet malts and smoked flavours, almost no alcohol detectable. It’s so tasty and satisfying, even after twenty different beers. Definitely the best beer of the day so far. Great!

Black color with tan head. Aroma of fresh bretts, wood, coffee. Taste is similar, some sort of tartness. Weak and off. Disappointing as well.

Wenig säuerlich-holziger, vollmundig malziger Antrunk. Angesichts des Alkoholgehalts ziemlich weich und unauffällig, trocken herb. Die Fasslagerung steht nicht imVordergrund, ist aber hintergründig angenehm vorhanden, wenig schokoladig. Rund, es fehlt aber der letzte Schliff. 11/11/10/11/12/11
