Bottle @ home. Hazy yellow colour with a medium sized white head. Smells malts, sweet, resin, hops, fresh. Tastes hops, fresh, a bit watery. Crisp, too much carbo, thin body.

Gluten-free APA from this Spanish craft brewery, bottle shared by Jan. Thick and frothy, regularly shaped, egg-white, stable head leaving ’papery’ lacing, over a hazy straw blonde beer with vague olive greenish tinge. Dank and fragrant aroma of sweet red onions, raw garlic, yellow grapefruit, cedar essential oil, dry bread crust, minerals, camomile flowers, lime zest. Clean, restrained fruitiness in the onset, hints of green unripe banana and hard pear, minerally accents, fizzy carbonation (perhaps a bit on the sharp side for this style even), slight metallic note but otherwise smooth, bit oily body. Grainy, cereally middle, something vaguely white bread crust-like but in all, a bit on the dry and thin side for the style, a dash of rounded ’caramelliness’ would probably lift this up; the finish is however beautifully coloured by fragrant New World hoppiness, grapefruity and a tad piney, with a long but ’mild’ bitterness, a typical APA hop character, with minerally side notes and a light amount of ’end juiciness’. Nice, but like many other gluten free beers, too thin and grainy in the middle especially for this style; the generous amount of hop aromatics do make up for this, though.

Draft at Kaapse 3 year anniversary festival. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of light fruits, citrus, tropical notes. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Could have done with some gluten.
